The 20 millionth Honda Accord built in the United States was this Honda Accord from Marysville, Ohio.
Honda recently celebrated the 20 Millionth Automobile in the U.S., an honor with deep roots here in the Buckeye State.
Honda has been building cars in the United States and Ohio since 1982, when the first Honda Accord rolled off the assembly line at the Marysville Auto Plant in Marysville, Ohio.
“We are deeply aware that our ability to reach this milestone results from the trust that 20 million customers have placed in our products, and we appreciate their support over the past three decades,” said Hidenobu Iwata, president and CEO of Honda of America Mfg. and head of Honda’s North American manufacturing. “We also value the commitment made by tens of thousands of associates at Honda and our hundreds of suppliers in the U.S. who build products of the highest quality for our customers.”
Honda recently unveiled the newly redesigned Honda Civic Coupe at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. The Civic Coupe’s 2012 redesign focused on structural, safety, and interior improvements. For 2014 however, Honda is looking towards style and performance.
The Coupe has gained a more aggressive grille, hood, front fenders, and headlight design. You’ll also see new taillight lenses, sportier front and rear bumpers, new side mirrors, and new wheel designs.
Honda North America today announced another $215 million investment in the state of Ohio.
As reported in Automotive News and other outlets, $180 million will be invested at the Honda of American Mfg. Inc. Anna Engine Plant in Anna, Ohio. The goal is to expand capabilities in aluminum die casting and engine parts related to the Honda Earth Dreams Technology engines and transmissions.
“For the 21st century of manufacturing, we believe our success will be defined by the successful interaction between our associates and technology,” said Rick Schostek, senior vice president of Honda North America, Inc. “Even as we introduce more sophisticated technologies in our products and in our plants, we are working to ensure that our associates are equipped with the skills required for the manufacturing requirements of the future. We view this investment in Honda people as critical to our future success.”

Waikem Honda again has the Northeast Ohio Honda championship belt on display in our Massillon showroom. The award goes to the dealership with the highest sales percentage for the month. Waikem Honda had one of its best months ever in March 2013, and the team got to pose with the title once again.
