The 2014 Honda Civic hits the Massillon showroom with an all-new CVT transmission, upgrade interior and upgrades in technology and safety.
SO WHAT’S NEW?
All models come with a new available continuously variable transmission. This replaces the traditional 5-speed automatic transmission in both the coupe and sedan models. Honda says CVT provides a smooth, quick acceleration and improves fuel economy. The Civic now gets 30 mpg city, 39 highway.
“Year over year, we have continued to strengthen the competitive position of Civic with new performance, features and value for the money, and 2014 is no exception,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda. “This 2014 Civic is our best offering yet, and makes Civic not just the best-selling, but once again the outright best pick in the compact class.”
VEHICLE BROCHURE: 2014 HONDA CIVIC
After updating the style of the Honda Civic Sedan last year, the Civic Coupe receives upgraded style for the 2014 year. Taking cues from the sedan, the coupe comes with more aggressive, sporty grille, new tail lights, sportier front and rear bumpers, and an all new wheel design.
The Civic Coupe also receives additional performance enhancements, including revised suspension tuning with higher spring rates and a stiffer rear stabilizer bar. A revised exhaust system raises power output by 3 horsepower to 143 hp and 1 lb-ft of torque to 129 lb-ft. For added driver engagement, the Civic EX and EX-L Coupe models feature new steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
The Civic also gets some great technology upgrades in the new year. You’ll get an all-new available 7-inch display touchscreen audio system. Other new features of the Civic include push button ignition, expanded view driver’s mirror and the Honda LaneWatch blind spot monitor. There are also auto on/off headlights and a power driver seat.
The Civic also has a great list of standard features no matter which model you choose. The 2014 Honda Civic comes standard with Bluetooth, Rearview camera, SMS Text Messaging among other great features. You’ll also listen to Pandora over the speakers no matter which vehicle you pick.
Safety is a huge plus, as the Honda Civic is one of the first vehicles in its class to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus and a 5-star crash test rating from NHTSA.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE 2014 HONDA CIVIC:
With its reputation for reliability, safety, comfort and excellent resale still intact, the 2014 Honda Civic remains one of the best small-car values around
The Honda Civic has long been one of the better-driving cars in its class, and this tradition continues with the latest version’s precise, well-weighted steering and confident handling. The Civic also offers one of the most comfortable and composed rides in the class. With last year’s refinements, it’s also pretty quiet at freeway speeds, something you couldn’t say about older Civics.
With this revamped Civic, Honda has made major gains in refinement that translate to a far more pleasant cabin experience. Compared to the pared-down 2012 model, the current Civic’s body has been stiffened with more high-strength steel, side pillars have been upgraded, and thicker windshield and front door glass have been applied. There’s also more soundproofing for the dash, floor, doors, and rear tray. The difference is that you barely hear the engine when it’s idling, road noise has been cut way down, and the softer dash materials make even the acoustics inside feel a bit softer.
