Review: 2013 Honda Ridgeline

The 2013 Honda Ridgeline is a safe and sportier midsized pickup, so if you are looking to an alternative from the Dodge Ram or Chevy Silverado, the Ridgeline is a great truck to consider.

Not all truck drivers are looking to haul cattle, spaceships, or a barn full of wood, and that’s where we think the Honda Ridgeline fits in. As someone who has always driven a Honda Civic or a Honda Accord, a truck can be a difficult choice, especially for urban settings with require a truck. The Ridgeline though is modeled as the sporty truck, especially the Ridgeline’s Sport model, with features  18-inch alloy wheels, sporty styled headlights, privacy glass and a leather steering wheel.

But across the model, the Ridgeline is a different kind of truck for a different kind of truck driver. One of our favorite features of the Honda Ridgeline is the dual action tailgate. Unlike most trucks, the Ridgeline tailgate can be swung open like door or it can be lowered like the conventional tailgate. This is a major reason to choose the Ridgeline, because every job has it own set of tailgate requirements, and now the Honda Ridgeline is finally giving you the options you need from your truck.

The Ridgeline even has a trunk under the tailgate, adding even additional storage and safety space. The Ridgeline features a 5 foot bed that secures up to 1,100 pounds of cargo. If you need to tow, the Ridgeline features an available V-6 engine and four wheel drive system that allows you to pull up to 5,000 pounds behind the truck.

The Ridgeline is also a very safe truck. It was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Ridgeline also features ABS, electronic brake distribution, and front airbags and side curtain airbags.

Get your Ridgeline in six available exterior colors and three different interior colors and fabric choices.

It’s smart, active-minded and extremely safety-conscious. The pickup truck offers ingenious storage options, a high-tech drivetrain and unique chassis construction. The Ridgeline’s styling is unique and hotly debatable. What’s not in question are the Ridgeline’s comfortable ride, precise handling, and limited, but always spirited, performance.”

Overall, when compared to choices like the Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, or Dodge Ram, the Honda Ridgeline is the obvious choice for midsized trucks. We loved the innovative cargo area and the Top Safety Pick Award, so learn more about the Honda Ridgeline and see it for yourself at Waikem Honda in Massillon, Ohio.
